Janet Kobobel Grant established Books & Such Literary Agency in 1996 after working in the book publishing industry for more than twenty years. She had her own imprint at Zondervan Publishing and served as managing editor of books at Focus on the Family.
In May 2005 Wendy Lawton joined the agency, bringing her business skills, recognition of strong writing, and marketing prowess to the agency.
Kathleen Y'Barbo joined the agency in 2007 as a publicist exclusively for our clients. She has a marketing degree from Texas A&M and previously worked for Glass Roads Public Relations.
Rachel Zurakowski also began work at the agency in 2005 as an intern while she earned her degree at the University of California, Davis. She now serves as an associate agent, specializing in material created by twentysomething and thirtysomething authors.
Etta Wilson, who has worked as an agent representing children and young adult's authors since 1989, continues that specialization, having joined Books & Such in the fall of 2007.
Michelle Ule works as the agency office assistant. She handles behind-the-scenes details and offers opinions on everything from manuscripts to titles for books. Since she has been reading anything and everything for 44 years, she’s an invaluable asset to the agency.
Books & Such represents a solid client list and sells books to a wide range of publishers in such categories as women’s fiction, general fiction, nonfiction, gift books, children’s picture books, easy readers, and chapter books.
